Mavin records CEO, Don Jazzy, meets with American music industry executive and YouTube’s Global Head of Music, Lyor Cohen.

Through his Instagram page, the singer shared photos of their meet with the top YouTube official.

He wrote; “#Youtube Global team led by Baba in the game #LyorCohen came visiting. Our dear African music industry is growing. The conversations are getting bigger. The future is looking brighter. The musicians of tomorrow will be super proud of the bridges we built. #PanAfrican #Mavin.”

YouTube plays a huge part in Nigeria’s music industry. The platform allows Nigerian music acts to showcase their talent to the world.

The platform has also become a yardstick for measuring successes depending on the number of views garnered by music videos.

Lyor Cohen, born October 3, 1959, is an American music industry executive. Cohen has been actively involved in hip hop at various record labels for more than 30 years.

He started by managing rappers for Rush Productions, then led Def Jam. After Def Jam, Cohen took on a leadership role at Warner Music Group.

In September 2012, Cohen put in his resignation at Warner and started his own independent label, 300 Entertainment. On September 28, 2016, Cohen was named YouTube’s Global Head of Music.
